I am creating some corporate videos as part of my media level 3 course but also outside of college I am also doing some, I spent the first day back of college collecting info on different potential clients and by the end of the day i have 3 clients who i am going to do videos for, one in college and 2 out of it, the business I am doing in college is a tattoo parlour called Burn the witch tattoo and apparel, with this video, my aim is to show not just the tattooing and there skills but also the people who make the business possible and also the apparel part of the store aswell as showing the skills of the tattooists, this one I will be doing first since it is the first one I asked plus it is part of my course and I will be making the other two outside of college. The other two videos, are for local bands, one called Dullahan this is a rock metal band based in exeter, and the other is called Breakout they are a psychobilly, punk, punkabilly band from the south west (UK) these guys are based in plymouth, i am excited about working with both of these musicians because they’re different ages different styles and they’re both looking for different things, My goals with all of these business/groups is to make a video they can be proud of and can show off the business/groups and there skills and what they can offer.
First thing to do with the business’s that i’m working with is to first have a meeting to establish what we’d like to have in the video and what they think is needed and what I as a video producer this is necessary.
ANALYSE OF CORPORATE VIDEOS
Microsoft corporate video
This video, shows the making of the new Microsoft the struggles they had to go though to make it happen, they told us about how the signidge is very strict and it took alot of meetings for them to get permission for putting the signs up.
The lighting of the video is really light and calming and makes you feel engaged in the video, this is because our eye picks up bright lighting and as soon as it catches our eye so good lighting is important in a video especially when its to sell something.
This video as well as good lighting has clear and understandable speech, it has voice overs and music these are clear and understandable which is very important in a video because it shows the video is professional. Its a well known fact that not often people will pick up on the great sound quality of things but all the time people will pick up on bad quality things, the quality of the video needs to be high as it reflects the business.
The Tattoo Shop – corporate video.
This video starts of by the start of the background song coming on and the name of the tattoo studio, then as the music picks up about you see the tattooist and he starts explaining how long he’s been tattooing and what got him into it, he tells us a bit about him he talks directly to the so we feel like he’s talking to us it gives the video more of a human connection, the sound we hear throughout the video are just the back ground music that is fairly basic it is upbeat and it draws you in as soon as it starts, this music is very clear but also it doesn’t get in the way of the man speaking, the man as he speaks has a very strong indian accent and its hard for me to understand what he’s saying, this is not the best thing for the video since the entire video he talks, somethings are easier to understand than others, its important to have great sound quality so the customer can understand clearly what is being said and because it adds a better quality of video and because the video is representing the company you want it to be the best it can be.
During the video we see him sketch some drawings showing his skills and showing the public what he can draw well, we also see him tattooing and this shows us how well of a tattoo artist he is, throughout the time he speaks his drawings are up on the wall and so throughout the entire video we can see him create artwork/his work, this is a great thing to do in a corporate video because we then pick up subconsciously that he is a great artist and automatically trust his work, we also see one of his clients and he seem’s fairly content and because of this we trust him a bit more.
The video has quite a few really good shots, for example there is a shot at 1:09 and it shows his working station and where he does ideas this is neat tidy and therefor great for corporate video, the more impressive, clean shots are in your corporate video the more people are going to be impressed by the video and subsequently the company.
Overall the corporate video was very successful, if the sound of him speaking was a little bit clearer it would be perfect.
Spider Monkey – Tattoos
The first thing we see in this corporate video is the owner of the tattoo parlour and before we can properly tune into the video, were already hooked, he starts by introducing himself and saying who he is and what he does, this is useful for people who want to get to know the person behind the business, then there are sweeping shots of the shop and as we hear him speak over videos of him tattooing and we also get to meet his crew and his longest worker ‘scrappy’ we then see shots of him tattooing, i think its important to see the tattooists at work tattooing because it adds trust and shows that they’re actually really good, at what they do we also see a few shots of the tattoo artists drawing up some ideas these are also important because the same reason. The lighting in this video is bright and inviting there are a lot to look at and a lot that catches the eye, i think thats a great thing because it draws you in when you see something bright and colourful, for example within the first minute you’re already drawn in, because its clear and bright lighting, the lighting of the video gives the video a professional touch therefor giving your business a professional touch.
The sound all throughout the entire video is clear comprehendible and very good sound quality for example, the voice over, we can hear and understand every word of what he’s saying we can hear also the music in the background and its not just the main/shop owner we hear clearly and well its every artist/everyone who talks is clear and understandable this is great because we don’t normally pick up good sound but we pick up bad quality really well and because the sound is good we automatically link it to being a good business.
The video has a lot of really good shots such as the first sweeping shots of the shop and the shots of getting tattoos done, I love the section of the video where they have 2 different videos on the screen at a time and a photo of the finished product this shows of the different styles and shows us a glimpse into there work, this is a great idea because the customer knows what they’re getting into.

I aim to make a video representing the business and the artists who make up the business itself, I aim to create a video that is worthy/good enough to be placed on there website and to get more customers by showing the video to people who are interested/people who don’t know about the business yet.
Target Audience: My target audience is both male and females who love tattoos, its for anyone who is looking into the business and looking into getting a tattoo by burn the witch its also people who are interested by the apparel the clothes and jewellery, the gender isn’t definite of who it is aimed at, the website you.gov profiles does not come up with anything if you search for tattoos therefore it is hard to research what the average person who is interested in tattoos is. The duration of the video will be about 1 mins but i’m going to make 3 different videos all different lengths and give them all three. The outline of the idea is to create a corporate video for the company burn the witch its not 100% set to what shots i’m doing yet but i have a few set out the rest is going to be creative freedom.

Target Audience- The target audience for the video are the fans of the band itself, people who like Melodic Metal, since they are a Melodic Metal band also the target audience are people who want to hire them for the shows/venues, they can watch the video and figure out weather they want to hire them for there venue to preform.
With this band I aim to create a video that represents them as a band, showing them in show and out of show, I aim to show the musicians as individuals as well as a band, I would make the video about 30 seconds to – 2 minutes long and I would like to make the video so it shows off there skills by putting there music behind the shots, i’d cut there songs together so a range of their music is shown not just one particular song, I would use the shots of the band on stage in there shows to show off there energy and skills onstage and Id also put every individual member of the band, (andy – Upright Slap Bass + Lead Vocal Sean (Mudman) – Drums + Backing Vocal Jim – Guitars + Backing Vocal) this way we get to know the band members as individuals not just as a band.
Target Audience- The target audience for the video are the fans of the band itself, people who like Psychobilly Punk Punkabilly Rock band also the target audience are people who want to hire them for the shows/venues, they can watch the video and figure out weather they want to hire them for there venue to preform.
